Films + Loops
Experimental sci-fi short film about a doomed expedition to another world in the form of a visual eulogy. Inspired by Chris Marker and a deeply felt regret that Chantal Ackerman never made a science fiction epic.
Note: This is slightly updated version of the film, with a few additional shots and a new sound mix. The original version of the this film was conceived, filmed, edited, and premiered in a single day while in residence at the Vermont Studio Center. In retrospect, it was perhaps not a great idea to show my new film about a group of explorers who die mysteriously on a remote planet from "something in the water," to a nearly identical number of people on the third day of a remote artist residency located next to a river. Watching it on YouTube is likely to be much less awkward.
